    Abstract

    Additive Manufacturing (AM) technologies are now widely spread in our industries. One of the critical issues for companies, however, lies in hiring expert staffwith a comprehensive knowledge of AM processes.CAPT’N’SEE is a training program dedicated to professionals willing to enhance their expertise in the use of these technologies. Two core steps of the AM valuechain that have been so far neglected will more particularly be addressed: the AM early design stages and, in the shopfloor, the Manufacturing Execution Systems(MES) stage which allow real-time control of processed partsBuilding on the expertise of its consortium members, gathering experienced industrial and academic partners, the project will initiate a dynamic shift in the way towork, leading to more creative, flexible, and smart AM. Therefore, one of the targeted sector will be the luxury industry which is in strong growth and where highvalue-added productions require enhanced creativity and high precision.

    Abstract

    The project focuses on defining the factory as a machine, a system in which the important components can be described as models that represent resources over time, in the Lean way.We will identify the requirements for the three models that represent the Smart factory:Lean Accounting, which variables and relations represent the economic model of the company that owns the factoryLean Manufacturing, which variables and relations represent the way of producingCost Engineering, which variables represent the product cost.The experimental development aims at making the whole factory a big measuring machine, by developing the following prototype infrastructure:Edge Computing network nodes and intelligent gatewaysCyber Physical System composed of:measuring machinemodelling machinereasoning and running machineuniversal interface machine.

    Abstract

    The main objective of the present project is the study of innovative methodologies and criteria to design flexible manufacturing lines capable of fully exploiting the benefits and the flexibility provided by the AGV-based transport.In turn, the findings of this research will be integrated into:1.A system for decision support devoted to the designers of manufacturing lines, able to optimize thelocation of the manufacturing cells in the shop-floor area;2.A system for simulating the traffic flow across the shop-floor, to identify possible criticalities andevaluate the overall performance of the manufacturing system.

    Abstract

    ll progetto DISLO-MAN ha come obiettivo primario la realizzazione di un piattaforma ICT per gestione integrata, dinamica e autonoma delle operazioni di produzione ad alto livello di automazione finalizzata all’ l’ottimizzazione delle risorse (persone, materiali, sistemi di produzione). La piattaforma DISLO-MAN, fortemente basata sulle tecnologie della Internet-of-Things (IoT) consisterà di più moduli hardware e software orizzontali applicabili ad ambiti produttivi indifferenziati, e di moduli verticali applicati a quattro filiere dimostrative ad alto impatto sul territorio e con differenti volumi, dimensioni e complessità: il car manufacturing, il machine tools manufacturing, la meccanica di precisione, la farmaceutica e l'agroalimentare.
