The Department

Within the present industrial background, the design and management of technological systems is based on the integration of specific engineering subjects with economic and organizational expertise. Therefore, capabilities to understand and manage the relationships between the technical systems and the economic and organizational context in which they operate are required. To this end, in the late 1980’s, the Department of Management and Production Engineering (DIGEP) was established.

The DIGEP is aimed at providing a structured approach to the education of professionals, combining a more traditional technical knowledge with a solid expertise in economics and business management. Besides the research activity, DIGEP is the reference for bachelor and master level courses inhering industrial engineering and management. The Department provides teaching support in its own subjects to other bachelor and master curricula of Industrial and Information Engineering.
